This book celebrates the life of the writer, its passions, its rewards and of course its conflicts and pain. One is tempted to call it a Journal, but there are no anecdotes. André Roy writes short fragments, much like epigrams. The passion of writing is present on every page. In 1986 Roy won the Governor general's Award for his book of poems and prose pieces, Action Writing. The Passions of Mr. Desire, translated by Daniel Sloate, was published in 1986 (Guernica).
