Luciano Erba
Winner of several of Italy's most prestigious awards, Luciano Erba (1922-2010) established himself as one of the leading Italian poets of his generation. He was a translator of J. de Sponde, B. Cendrars, P. Reverdy, H. Michaux, F. Ponge and Thom Gunn along with many other French and English poets. His more than ten volumes of poetry include: Il nastro di Moebius (Premio Viareggio, 1980), Il Tranviere Metafisico (Premio Bagutta, 1988), L'Ippopotamo (Premio Librex-Guggenheim Eugenio Montale), L'Ipotesi Circense (1995) and Nella terra di mezzo (2000).
