Nicolette Kay
Nicolette Kay trained at The Drama Centre , London, and worked in mainstream theatre. She was Artistic Director and founder of Muzikansky which was based at The Forum (a rock band venue) Nicolette produced plays including the Time Out Critics’ Choice Mary Stuart, The Dreams of Clytemnestra and Mela (all by Dacia Maraini), The B3 Team (Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith), the world premiere of Seed by Souad Faress (2004) and the London premiere of Love Child by Joanna Murray-Smith (2007). Writing includes the co-translation of Mary Stuart which was subsequently published and has been continuously performed in the English speaking world, the full-length Falling Out which won an Arts Council Award and A Short Message which was filmed at the Rutger Hauer Filmfactory. She founded New Shoes Theatre in 2009. She specializes in producing lesser known work written by women.
