Romano Perticarini
Born in Fermo, Italy, in 1934, Romano Perticarini attended the Industrial Technical Institute and in 1967 he moved to Vancouver where he worked for several years with Italian language newspapers. In the course of his career, Perticarini won several poetry competitions, including the prestigious Prix Ungaretti, the prize Piacenza, the "City of Pompeii," the Gallarate Milan. In 1999, the Cultural Centre of Vancouver awarded him the "Hall of Fame Award." In 2002 The President of the Italian Republic made him a Cavaliere of the Republic.
