Mario Luzi
The most prominent voice in Italian poetry after Eugenio Montale, Mario Luzi (1914-2004) is generally considered one of Italy's greatest contemporary poets and one of the most outstanding literary figures of this century. He participated in the most important reviews of avant-garde literature during the 1930s. He published seven collections of poetry in addition to a collected poems. In 1978, he was awarded the prestigious Viareggio Prize for Poetry. This is the first English translation of his work in book form.
