Daniel David Moses
Born in 1952, a registered Delaware Indian, Daniel David Moses grew up on the Six Nations lands along the Grand River near Brantford, Ontario. Moses’ publications include thirteen plays, four books of poetry, a CD of spoken poetry with music, and a book of essays. There have been well over thirty productions of his plays. He has placed upwards of three hundred poems in various juried magazines and dozens of nonfiction pieces in juried periodicals. Included in his body of work are song lyrics and collaborations on installation art pieces. His writing appears in numerous national and international anthologies, and has been translated into French, German, Czech, Spanish, Chinese, and Persian. His co-edited Anthology of Canadian Native Literature in English (1992), into a fourth edition (2013), appears in university and college classrooms across the country, the gold standard for collections of Indigenous literary writing. He has also edited the Exile Book of Native Canadian Fiction and Drama (2010).
