Tonino Guerra
Best-known for his work as a screenwriter, Tonino Guerra collaborated with outstanding Italian directors from Michelangelo Antonioni to Federico Fellini. Guerra, who scripted more than 100 screenplays, was nominated for three Oscars for his work on Antonioni's Blow Up, Fellini's Amarcord and Casanova 70. Aside from his scriptwriting, Guerra, born in 1920, was also a poet. He began to write during World War II, when he was imprisoned in a concentration camp in Germany. Guerra died on March 21, 2012.
